Description

OSB-3 — Oriented Strand Board with high moisture resistance. The board consists of three layers of softwood chips oriented longitudinally in the outer layers, and transversely in the inner layers. This is where its name comes from.
Today, OSB-3 is the most popular type of the oriented strand board in Kazakhstan, Russia and neighbouring countries, since it has, in addition to its important advantage of high mechanical strength, such essential property as water resistance. However, we do not mean constant exposure to moisture, since the board can withstand only short-term exposure. If it is necessary to use this material outside, additional protection (applicable impregnating compound or paint) is required. OSB-3 are mainly needed for other purposes, such as metal tile or profiled roof sheathing, as well as construction of frame buildings or installation of interior partitions, leveling of decks and existing floors.
